Thayron was helping search for missing people in Rio Grande do Sul; dog acted in other national disasters, such as in Brumadinho and Petrópolis
Last Friday, the 22nd, the search dog died Thayronat 5 years. Belonging to Mato Grosso Military Fire Brigade (CBMMT)Labrador had an accident while working to rescue cyclone victims in Rio Grande do Sul.
“It is with regret that we announce the death of the rescue dog Thayron, this morning, in the municipality of Bom Retiro/RS, after suffering an accident,” published the CBMMT, in collaboration with the Rio Grande do Sul firefighters.
Nationally certified, the Labrador assisted in the search for people during the flood that occurred in the Vale do Taquari region, which to date has caused 49 deaths and nine missing. As the CBMMT recalled, Thayron had already acted in other major national disasters, such as Brumadinho, in Minas Gerais, is that of Petrópolis, in Rio de Janeiro.
“Thayron died while on duty, working in search operations in Rio Grande do Sul, due to the cyclone that hit the state. His courageous spirit and tireless dedication will always be present in our hearts”, reiterates the note .
The military firefighters of Rio Grande do Sul also paid tribute to the dog, saying that they “deeply regret his departure and leave their homage to this being who dedicated his life to the noble mission of saving.”
