Intense heat can damage hair; find out how to take care of your hair

The hairstylist comments on how heat can be harmful to the hair and scalp; see how to take care

Hair requires multiple care, from correct cleaning to hydration, to stay healthy. healthy and bright. But when it is very hot, as is currently the case in several regions of Brazil, these phases only increase.

“Without this care, hair can have oily roots and dry ends, as well as becoming brittle, dull, severely frizzy and even full of dandruff, due to sweat caused by the heat,” explains the hair salon Marcella Dias.

Thinking of helping those who find it difficult to keep their hair well cared for during periods of higher temperatures, the specialist has separated some necessary tips to pay more attention to your locks. Find out what they are below!

Hydrate well

It is worth paying attention to hydration, especially if you go to the beach or pool. This is because the combination of salt or chlorinated water, sun and sweat is the enemy of hair.

So Marcella’s advice for this moment is to wash your hair with a shampoo that contains hydrating active ingredients and, after rinsing, apply a hydrating mask. This measure will help you regain lost moisture.

Increase beach care

The beach is the main destination sought after by those seeking refreshment during heat waves. However, it requires differentiated treatments with wires.

“It is very important to protect your hair before going into the sea, because salt water easily dries out your hair. I also recommend rinsing it with fresh water after swimming in the sea and, immediately afterwards, applying a moisturizing cream or conditioner, in to replenish nutrients,” advises Mega Studio partner Be Emotion.

Don’t forget your scalp

It’s normal to sweat more in the heat! In turn, this leads to increased greasiness and dirt buildup on the scalp. With this chain of problems, the ideal is wash your hair more frequently and use the correct products for this.

“To prevent your hair from getting dirty, you need to wash it three to four times a week. It is also recommended to use deep cleansing shampoo at least once during weekly washes, but never every time,” says the hairstylist.

Also, in open places, such as parks, it is worth wearing a cap or hat to protect your scalp from the sun.

Use a thermal protector

Do you use sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun’s rays? So it is! It’s the same thing with hair, they too need to be protected. “Before leaving the house or after washing, don’t forget to apply a thermal protectant, a serum, a Leave-In or any other type of product that has UV protection in the composition. This way the hair is hydrated and protected, preventing future damage,” says Marcella.
