If you are curious to know more about Ho’oponoponoyou have heard praises about this practice or feel the need to forgive someone, this article is for you.
Ho’oponopono has its roots in the ancient wisdom of the Hawaiian people. But originally it was the priests who led the villages in the practice of forgiveness and gratitude.
However, it doesn’t take long to start practicing Ho’oponopono and using this wisdom of self-transformation. Come and I’ll tell you everything.
How to start practicing Ho’oponopono?
To start practicing Ho’oponopono you don’t need to do a big ritual, read an in-depth guide or dedicate many hours. In fact, all you need to do is sincerely recite the four key phrases of Ho’oponopono:
- I’m really sorry.
- Excuse me.
- I love you.
- Gratitude or thanks
At this point you’re asking me: is that right?
Yes, according to Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, Master of Ho’oponopono and PhD in Psychiatry, even if you don’t believe it at first, you should keep repeating the phrases.
Over time, you will unlock negative beliefs and self-transformation will occur. But if you need help, Count on me here at the Ho’oponopono Workshop.
Tips for Beginners in Ho’oponopono
My journey with Ho’oponopono began about 25 years ago. Initially, I was intrigued by the story of Dr. Len himself, who treated an entire ward of mentally ill criminal patients in a hospital using this very technique.
Read more about Ho’oponopono (learn more about the practice here) and I started a major behavioral change in my life.
I’m not going to delve too deeply into this valuable topic right now, but I want to share my ongoing practice over the years and some tips that might help you if you’re just starting out.
1. Sentence order
I repeat sentences randomly, depending on what I feel, but most of the time I follow a specific reasoning to give more credibility to my mind and my unconscious.
For example, in conflictual relationships:
- I’m really sorry: I recognize all the emotions and aspects of myself that contribute to this conflict.
- Excuse me: I accept responsibility for my role in the conflict and humbly express my desire to change.
- I love you: I recognize the spark of light in myself and in the other person, which connects us energetically in the creation of the universe. I choose to see the best in you.
- Gratitude: I am grateful for the opportunity this conflict gives me to grow and calm my mind and heart.
2. Repeat with intention
Really try saying these sentences “I’m sorry. Forgive me. I love you. I’m grateful”out loud or in thought, in all the uncomfortable situations of your life,
But practice with honesty and responsibility, generating kindness and gratitude. Then, after reciting these phrases with this intention, silently allow your inner wisdom to ease the negative emotion.
In the beginning, when my brain still had doubts, the negative feeling took longer to disappear. But now it happens quickly and I apply this practice to everything that bothers me.
3. Practice every day
For those who want to try Ho’oponopono, I suggest starting now and don’t forget to practice daily.
It is because continuing this exercise will lead to greater self-knowledge, revealing layers of the unconscious, greater inner peace and better relationships.
Therefore, I recommend you try it for 21 days continuously. I guarantee you that gradually everything will make sense and everything will start to change. Both in yourself, in your surroundings, in your relationships and in your internal disposition to live life.
But if you want to practice Ho’oponopono in a guided way, you can listen to the meditation below every day.
Let’s begin?
This practice has become my philosophy of life. Everything I analyze and give meaning to involves self-responsibility for what I feel and judge.
I understand that everything I perceive around me finds meaning in my past. If I don’t want to repeat unconscious choices, I have to abandon old concepts, often based on trauma and beliefs.
If you want to know more about Ho’oponopono, I have a wide variety of videos, meditations and articles here linked to this precious ancestral wisdom, so relevant today. Don’t waste time, have fun!
I’m really sorry. Excuse me. I love you. Gratitude.
