DIY Halloween: 5 easy decorations to make at home!

Halloween is coming and it’s time to prepare your home for this spooky time that everyone loves. That’s why we’ve brought five simple decorating ideas that you can do in your home.

1. Scary little pots




Materials you will need:

  • Clear Glass Jars (Mason Jar Style)
  • Neon bracelets (various colors)
  • Black permanent pen
  • Fake cobwebs (optional)

How to do:

  1. Light and cut (very carefully) your neon bracelets
  2. Pour the glowing liquid into the glass jar
  3. Use black permanent marker to draw ghost, spider or monster faces on the vases
  4. Add faux cobwebs around jar lids for added flair
  5. Just turn off the lights!

2. Wall art



Materials you will need:

  • Paints (various colors)
  • Brushes
  • Glow in the dark paint (optional)
  • Stencils or freehand drawings

How to do:

  1. Start with black cardstock as your canvas
  2. Get creative and paint mysterious scenes, haunted houses or scary messages
  3. You can even add some glow in the dark details for a creepier effect!
  4. Hang your wall art in a highly visible place!

3. Pumpkins (you can’t get more Halloweeny than this)



Materials you will need

  • Acrylic paint (in various colors)
  • Brushes
  • Glitter (optional)
  • moving eyes
  • Craft glue

How to do

  1. Get creative and paint your mini pumpkins with mysterious faces or spooky scenes
  2. Attach googly eyes for added flair
  3. Spread your personalized pumpkins around the house

4. Window silhouettes



Materials you will need

  • Black cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Tape

How to do

  1. Cut out spooky shapes, such as bats, witches or mysterious trees, from cardstock
  2. Stick them on your windows
  3. At night, shine a flashlight or LED light behind the silhouettes to create eerie shadows

5. Spooky candlesticks



Materials you will need

  • Candlesticks or glass jars
  • Plastic insects (spiders, cockroaches, worms)
  • Craft glue
  • LED lights

How to do

  1. Glue plastic insects to the outside of candle holders or glass jars
  2. Let the glue dry.
  3. Place a small LED light in or around it to create eerie shadows!
