Coconut bread

Preparation time: 1h30 (+30min rest)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (tea) warm water
  • 8 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 glass of 200 ml of coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup (tea) melted butter
  • 1 cup freshly grated coconut
  • 4 cups (tea) of wheat flour
  • 1 egg yolk beaten for brushing
  • Margarine for greasing

  • 1 can of condensed milk

How to make coconut bread:

  1. In a container mix the yeast, water, sugar, coconut milk, butter and grated coconut, mix well.
  2. Add the flour little by little until it becomes elastic.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead well.
  4. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Knead the dough a little more and roll it into a loaf shape.
  6. Using a knife, gently cut lines into the dough, forming squares.
  7. Place on a greased baking tray, brush with egg yolk and bake in a preheated medium oven for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. In a container, mix the grated coconut and condensed milk.
  9. Pour onto the still hot bread and serve.
