José Nilton Cardozo, 65, was hospitalized on Monday the 30th, after the tumor had grown back.
Three months after removing a giant jelly-like tumor from his face, José Nilton Cardozo died this Wednesday 1st, after resuming the disease, in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. The information was spread by his daughter, Monick Cardozo.
“He fought for 10 years until his last day against a tumor that continued to grow in his head. Today God has gathered him and must praise him in glory,” Monick wrote and thanked the friends and family who accompanied him. The wake will take place in the Fernando Pedrosa cemetery, in Natal.
Nilton was admitted to the Santa Catarina Hospital on Monday the 30th. His family reported InterTV Cabugisubsidiary company of Rede Globo in Rio Grande do Norte, that the tumor had grown to a size close to its original size and that José Nilton needed to be hospitalized for pain relief and new tests.
Doctors ordered a biopsy and it was discovered that he had cancer, which had progressed to metastasize in his brain. The family relied on donations to cover José’s medical expenses.
According to family members, there were three surgeries in total. At the time of the first surgery, the elderly man received 18 doses of morphine in one day to treat the pain caused by the facial tumor. He underwent surgery on August 12, after a five-month court battle.
