At 150 years old, SPFW proves that jeans are still trendy

One of the parades on the second day of SPFW he was part of the movement I’m from Cotton, which brings together professionals from the entire supply chain to enhance Brazilian raw materials planted and processed in a sustainable way. The 40 looks shown pay homage to the good old jeans, whose patent for the first trousers was granted in 1873 to Levi Strauss.

Proving that trousers and all other pieces made from this fabric are and will continue to be in fashion, a collective of nine designers and brands have produced the looks, featuring all the possibilities offered by indigo jeans.

Some mixed with crochet and knitting, the productions were sometimes more sporty, sometimes more sophisticated, with overlays, patchwork, various washes, mixing artisanal techniques, contemporary with textile innovation.

The show, which started an hour late, was produced and creatively directed by Paulo Borges, director of SPFW. The brands and designers responsible for the outfits were Amapô, David Lee, Dendezeiro, Heloísa Faria, Korshi 91, Martins, Ronaldo Silvestre, Thear and Weider Silvestre. Everyone agrees that jeans are and will continue to be a trend, perhaps for many more centuries.
