Airline marketing executive, journalist, creator of one of the first fashion websites in Brazil, specialist in social networks and, for some time, working in the beauty market, launching influencers and creating new products. The life of Cecilia Lima It’s a Ferris wheel of experiences and news. So much so that today one of the partners of Luk Cosméticos has just launched an unprecedented product: the first hybrid cosmetic on the world market, a gloss and an intimate lubricant at the same time.
Having the courage to throw established careers in the air and venture into unknown worlds is not a feat for a few. Cecília Lima, 45 years old, is not afraid of challenges and she is not afraid to take risks. The launch of Gloss Cat, which costs R$ 49.90, is a good example, since, after becoming a partner in a cosmetics company and with a degree in chemistry in hand, a university attended during the pandemic, she realized the lack in the market of sensual products that you can carry in your bag or leave at home without scaring anyone. After all, even though we talk about sex more openly today than in the past, some taboos still remain.
Precisely to demystify issues like this, he called the sex influencer Fernanda Lopes, known as Great girl, which has more than 1.7 million followers on Instagram for a product development collaboration. Cecília spoke with the “Them on the red carpet” on the launch of this sensual cosmetic, on what led her to enter the world of beauty and on the turning points of her career, always driven by challenges.

Them on the Red Carpet – Why did you decide to create a beauty product that is also sensual?
Cecilia Lima – Since I started in the world of cosmetics, I have seen the growing demand for products that offer something more. I have done it on many who are hired in the transfer market where I have always worked behind the scenes. But in the case of sensual cosmetics, there have been many informal conversations with women who, out of fear, prejudice or taboo, have never risked consuming sensual products. I thought: why not? This was one of the biggest motivations: being able to convince women to buy the product in perfumeries and pharmacies. Our idea was to help women who are afraid of venturing into sex shops (some even feel uncomfortable in these places) to have a product that can remain on their dressing table without fear or shame.
Them on the red carpet – Why did you decide to call Nanda Lopes?
Cecilia Lima – I understood that you can’t just create something, launch it on the market and that’s it. When I saw Nanda Lopes, I thought she would be the perfect voice to take the product out of the sex shop and into the pharmacy and perfumery. She always talks about it on social media “cat” perfect (oral sex) on your networks and courses.

Them on the Red Carpet – But how can a product similar to gloss also be sensual?
Cecília Lima – This product is the first hybrid cosmetic on the world market. It can be used according to your imagination. With the applicator directly on the lips, it works like a gloss with a powerful hydrating and healing action, giving a beautiful wet effect alone or over your favorite lipstick. As for the most intimate parts (for both him and her), Gloss Cat has a powerful lubricating action, with a non-sticky texture, which ranges between hot, cold and vibrant, giving an amazing sensorial effect.
Them on the red carpet: what tests was the product subjected to?
Cecilia Lima – It is a grade 2 product with Anvisa notification, meaning it has been tested in certified laboratories proving that it does everything it claims to do. These are proven efficacy, safety, dermatological and gynecological tests. After 30 days of use, the following results were seen: 100% of participants reported improved lip lines/marks, more hydration; 80% of participants reported healing and regeneration of dry, chapped lips. and 66.67% of participants reported that the intimate region was more hydrated. The gloss has a vegan formula, not tested on animals and without parabens.

Them on the Red Carpet – Tell us a little about your professional life, full of challenges and novelties. Your experience can encourage other people to take risks and change their career field.
Cecilia Lima – I have worked in all layers of the social pyramid. I started my career working in marketing, working in executive aviation, where I managed 1% of GDP in events and stocks. I got tired and threw everything away. I studied Fashion Design and Journalism and created a website to talk about fashion journalism – “Online wardrobe”-, the first to specialize in the subject, who spoke about economics, education, but also trends. He also had a TV on demand. With him I ended up immediately embracing social media and was one of the first to talk about it, holding conferences, courses and lessons in universities. This is why I opened an agency that allowed me to work with very relevant people. In 2011, already with an agency, Farmaervas invited me to pilot the Tracta Blogs project, to choose and identify influencers with conversion power. We launched Bruna Tavares, Niina Secrets, Evelyn Regly, Leticia de Paula, Milla Cabral and many, many girls who today have prestige in what they do.
Them on the Red Carpet – But then you started to give up fashion journalism, to act on the networks to throw yourself headlong into the production of beauty products even for the most popular classes, right?
Cecilia Lima – Yes. 2016 was a fundamental year with the transition of Bruna Tavares to popular retail and, in 2018, my cycle ended at Farmaervas, when I received a proposal from a brand in the popular sector. I say it was my doctorate. Because of this process, I challenged myself to go to college again and study chemistry (guess I always considered myself a humanities major). It wasn’t easy, but I did it, even with a pandemic involved. Since last year I felt I needed more, I didn’t feel challenged and I had nothing to create, despite having entered into important licensing agreements such as with MGM to launch products of the “Wandinha”. Then the opportunity for something more arose and, together with my husband, I accepted the challenge of managing my own business together with a partner who was already a long-time friend of mine. Here I am, reformulating Luk, a still newborn brand, which turned two in October, and which has big projects to tackle, including other partnerships.
