The series is based on the 1959 novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson. The plot is built on the alternation of two timelines: one tells how the Crane family – parents and five children – move to Hill House to renovate the mansion, sell it and build their own house, the other tells how the already adult siblings try to unveil the mysteries they once encountered.
