The Brazilian delicacy competes for the title of the best dish in the world with 6 countries: Thailand, China, India, Malaysia, Italy and Russia
Picanha, a nationwide favorite when it comes to Brazilian barbecue, could gain even more prominence next Tuesday (12th). This is because Brazil’s most famous cut is among the 10 delicacies competing for the title of “best dish in the world” in a ranking drawn up by Taste Atlas, considered the encyclopedia of gastronomy.
But the competition is tough. Thailand leads the competition with 3 dishes among the 10 finalists: Khao soi, Phanaeng Curry and Phat kaphrao. China follows, with 2 competitors: Guatie and Tangbao. Asian dishes dominate with contenders from Malaysia (Roti canai) and India (Butter Garlic Naan). Russia also secured a place among the finalists with Shashlik. And Italy, with all its gastronomic tradition, enters the competition with Neapolitan pizza.
The final result will be revealed next Tuesday, December 12th. In an Instagram post, Taste Atlas encourages its followers to vote until then, noting that there are still five days left until the contest ends.
