Ingredients APPLE PIE WITH OATS

– 3 large Gala apples: peel them into the dough and slice the fruit in the center and on top

– lemon to taste, drops – (to avoid oxidizing the apples)

– 6 units of eggs

– 1 1/2 cups of water

– ground cinnamon to taste THE

– 2 cups gluten-free oatmeal (or gluten-free oat bran)

– 4 tablespoons of corn starch

– 8 tablespoons xylitol (use this amount or as much as you like) (or culinary sweetener)

– 4 tablespoons of clarified butter

– 150 g of walnuts (unchopped ones added at the end)

– 2 teaspoons of chemical yeast THE

PREPARATION:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Separate the recipe ingredients and utensils. An entire recipe corresponds to 4 servings. For this size, use a 26cm diameter round baking pan.
  3. Line the bottom and sides of a round baking tray with baking paper (leave the baking paper a little higher than the tray so it doesn’t overflow if your baking tray is shallow).
  4. Grease the baking paper with a little ghee (optional) to prevent it from sticking.
  5. Peel and slice the apples with a mandolin or a knife obtaining thin, whole slices of the same thickness. Put the peels in the blender and the slices in a bowl with a few drops of lemon.

PREPARATION:

Apple pie with oats (dough):

  1. In the blender, along with the apple peels, add the eggs, water, cinnamon, xylitol (or sweetener) and clarified butter. Beat to mix the ingredients well.
  2. Add gluten-free oatmeal or bran and cornstarch.
  3. Beat well. When everything is well mixed, add the walnuts, blend a couple of times, so that they are in smaller pieces, without turning into flour.
  4. Finally add the yeast and mix well.

Apple oat cake (assembly and cooking):

  1. Place half of the dough in the lined and greased pan.
  2. Arrange half of the apple slices.
  3. Add the other half of the dough. Arrange the remaining apple slices on top to cover the entire surface.
  4. Brush some ghee on the sliced ​​apples.
  5. Bake the apple and oat cake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 45-50 minutes or until it comes out dry (do the toothpick test in the center of the cake).
  6. Leave to cool a little, turn out.

FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:

  1. Before serving, sprinkle a little cinnamon on top.
  2. Cut the Apple pie with oats sliced, serve hot or at room temperature.
