The care prevents the risk of leaks during the summer

The problem is more common in the warmer months and during holiday travel.

During the warmer months of the year, as well as during holiday travel, it is common for women to be more likely to suffer from discharge. In most cases, it is a symptom of infections that are common this time of year, such as candidiasis (caused by a fungus) or bacterial vaginosis.

Heat and humidity make the environment more conducive to the growth of microorganisms, so some precautions can reduce the risk of infection. Here are some simple tips that can help you enjoy the summer without discharge:

  1. Don’t keep your bikini or swimsuit wet for too long. Swap the wet item for a dry one as often as possible during the day!
  2. Try to avoid using synthetic fabrics. They tend to make the intimate area more suffocating, which can increase the risk of fungal and bacterial growth.
  3. Choose light, breezy clothing. Cotton skirts, dresses and panties are best avoided leaving the vulva damp.
  4. Take care of your intimate hygiene, especially after going to the bathroom or having sex. The use of toilet paper is not always efficient; prefer to use water or wet wipes.
  5. During your menstrual period, pay special attention to sanitary pads. Change them more frequently, due to sweat.
  6. Wash your underwear with mild soap and let it dry in the sun. Avoid letting it dry in the bathroom, to prevent bacteria from proliferating.
  7. Avoid sharing underwear and even towels and soap!
  8. Take care of your immunity. Breaking the routine, with a poor diet and the consumption of alcoholic beverages can make the body more vulnerable, facilitating the proliferation of fungi and bacteria.
  9. Be careful with water pool. Make sure the water is treated properly and frequently to avoid diseases of various types.
  10. Don’t sit directly on the sand. Always wear a sarong to protect yourself or use chairs. Sand can cause allergies and even facilitate the onset of diseases in some women.
