Have the New Year’s Eve celebrations already arrived and you still don’t know which dessert to prepare to complete the dinner? Don’t worry: if you like grapes, we have the perfect solution! In addition to preparing excellent recipes, grapes are also part of the New Year’s tradition. In other words, you can combine the useful with the pleasant! See some of these dessert options below:
Grape candy on the plate
Time: 1h (+3h in the fridge)
Performance: 6 servings
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients:
- 1 can of condensed milk
- 1 can milk (use empty condensed milk can to measure)
- 10 grapes to decorate
- 1 can concentrated grape juice (use empty can of condensed milk to measure)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 350g chopped milk chocolate
Preparation method:
In a blender, beat the condensed milk, milk, grape juice, and cornstarch until smooth. Transfer it to a pan and cook over low heat, stirring, until it thickens. Pour into a small baking dish and leave to cool until solid.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave or in a bain-marie, spread it delicately on the cream and decorate with the grapes cut in half (push in half). Store in the refrigerator for 3 hours before serving.
Grape foam
Time: 30min (+2h in the fridge)
Performance: 6 servings
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons corn starch
- 2 cans milk (use empty condensed milk can to measure)
- 1 can of condensed milk
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 can of cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Jelly
- 1 box of grape flavored jelly
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 cup Thompson grapes, halved
- 1/2 cup (tea) cold water
- 2 egg whites
Preparation method:
In a pan, dissolve the corn starch in the milk, add the condensed milk, the sifted egg yolks and heat over low heat, stirring until it thickens.
Mix the cream and vanilla essence, pour into a medium baking dish and cover with cling film to prevent a skin from forming. Let cool. Dissolve the grape jelly in hot water and then mix the grapes and ice water. Reserve.
Beat the egg whites in a mixer or with a hand whisk until stiff. Add the sugar, without stopping whisking, until you sigh.
Gently incorporate it into the gelatine, mixing with a spoon. Remove the film and pour the gelatine over the cream. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until set. Serve.
Chocolate cake with milk powder and grapes
Time: 1h (+4h in the fridge)
Performance: 8 servings
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients:
- 300 g chocolate shortcrust biscuit
- 3 tablespoons margarine
- 1 egg white
- Thompson grapes and milk chocolate chips to garnish
- 2 cans of condensed milk
- 4 tablespoons margarine
- 4 tablespoons of powdered milk
- 100g chopped white chocolate
- 1 pack of cream (200 g)
- 2 cups Thompson grapes
Roof
- 250g melted semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 pack of cream (200 g)
Preparation method:
Grind the biscuit in a blender and mix it with butter and egg white. Line the bottom and sides of a 20cm diameter springform pan and place in a preheated medium oven for 8 minutes.
Heat the condensed milk, margarine, milk powder and white chocolate over medium heat, stirring until thickened. Turn off the heat, mix in the cream, let it cool and spread it over the dough. Store in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Remove and arrange the grapes on the filling. Return to the refrigerator for 2 hours. Blend the topping ingredients in a blender, distribute them over the grapes and place back in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Unmold, decorate with grapes, chocolate flakes and serve.
Grape flan with wine syrup
Time: 20 minutes (+3 hours in the fridge)
Performance: 8 servings
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients:
- 2 sachets of unflavored gelatin powder
- 2 cups concentrated grape juice
- 1 can of condensed milk
- 1 can of whey-free cream (300 g)
- Oil for anointing
Syrup
- 1/2 cup (tea) concentrated grape juice
- 1/2 glass of smooth red wine
- 1 1/2 cups (tea) sugar
Preparation method:
Prepare the gelatine following the instructions on the package, transfer it to the blender and blend it with the grape juice, condensed milk and cream until a smooth mixture is obtained. Pour into a buttered 20cm diameter mold with a hole in the center and place in the fridge for 3 hours.
In a pan, heat the syrup ingredients over medium heat for 15 minutes or until thickened, without stirring. Unmold the flan, spread the syrup over it and serve, garnished with grapes if desired.
