Architect David Bastos, who conceived the project, integrated the spaces and created an office that can also be used as a guest room

A business couple (in their seventies, with married children and grandchildren) found this new property 174 m2in the Jardim Paulista neighborhood, the architect David Bastos was called to create a project to adapt the system to the needs of the new owners and furnish all the spaces.

“Since the clients have a more classic and traditional profile, they requested neutral tones in the decoration. Furthermore, they requested a large room to accommodate the family and an office where you can work remotely”, he says.

Among the main changes to the layout of the property, given that the apartment is not the clients’ main residence and they love to explore the city’s restaurants, the kitchen has been reduced to serve only as a storage area, thus opening up the space to create an office charming, which can also be used as a guest room, as it has a private bathroom, sofa bed and television.

According to David Bastos, the main idea of the project came from the integration of spaces in the social sector, which combined the living room, dining room and bar, leaving the kitchen and office separated from this large living area to shrimp holders so they can be integrated into the room when necessary.

Everything in the decoration is new, with the exception of some decorations and artworks (all silkscreens are by the artist Carybé), which were already part of the clients’ collection.

“The neutral tones of beige and gray of the furniture and wallpaper that cover the entire apartment give visual unity to the whole, while the walnut carpentry, the cumaru plank flooring and the light linen curtains make the spaces more intimate and welcoming”, says Davide.

“In this context of neutrality, the armchair with pouf covered in green leather they have become a focal point of the living room with TV,” he points out. Since customers love comfort and timeless pieces, the sofa, ottoman, armchair and chairs were produced to order by Jocal and upholstered with fabrics made from natural materials , by Celina Dia.
