Here, we will help you understand the different types of tile patterns that are on the rise. Watch:

1. Fish bone

Perhaps one of the most popular tile designs, the Fishbone creates a sense of more spaciousness in a small room by adding graceful movement. To get this look, you need subway-style tiles (the subway tile).

Next, you need to place these tiles so that they point towards a wall or floor “V” shape.. Conversely, they can be positioned to keep that “V” shape, but they appear to run along the wall or floor. See the image below for an example.

To set the pattern, it is recommended to use contrasting grout or, alternatively, you can match the grout to the color of the tile for a more complementary motif.

2. Juxtaposed bricks

It consists of a simple style of the perfect model to create a metropolitan aesthetic. If you want to add the original metro-style effect to your walls or floor, this is the tile pattern you need.

To create this look, you need to make sure you have the right tile. Use a rectangular stone with a height of at least half the width. Then you can simply lay the tiles horizontally with a 50% shift.

Again, you can mix and match the different colors available to create your own design.

3. Bricks juxtaposed vertically




This bathroom by formandbalance features a salmon-colored subway tile that complements the beautiful terrazzo tile on the wall.  The terrace is making a big comeback, it adds a lot of visual interest and is easy to clean because it camouflages stains.

Similar to the previous model, this one places subway-style tiles vertically. This style is perfect for a feature wall in your bathroom or kitchen, adding height to the wall.

You can also create a modern take on your bedroom space by mixing bold color shades with a neutral color palette.

4. Linear

A linear pattern of the tiles offers ease and simplicity of installation without compromising the quality of the design. This pattern is by no means bland and by incorporating various tile colors you can create a stunning checkerboard effect.

To get this look, you need to wear a square tile and place them directly in line with each other.

On the other hand, you can use a one-color tile to create a minimalist design that makes a statement in its own right.

Tip: The linear tile pattern looks great with small square tiles like the kitchen backsplash or bathroom sink backsplash. You can even tile an entire wall inside a shower stall to create a dramatic element.

5. Hexagon

Rich, colorful tiles are a great addition to any sleek bathroom, but be sure to keep the rest of the space neutral enough for them to take center stage. 6. Modular

Modular patterns are perfect for creating unique designs on walls and floors. There are several types of patterns you can create. It all depends on the tiles you have purchased. Neutral tones are striking and muted, but the different tile arrangement makes the floor more exciting and eye-catching.

Subway tile is a classic choice for bathrooms, but just because it's popular doesn't mean you have to go the usual route. This is a great way to innovate things but keep your bathroom classic.

If you’re looking for something a little different when tiling your wall or floor, this is the perfect pattern.

It’s a simple tile pattern that can really add to a room’s design and works best in smaller spaces like half a kitchen wall or similar.

To create this look, you need to put two or more tiles together so that their perimeter is identical, forming a square. Assuming you place these first tiles horizontally, you need to place the following tiles vertically and alternate the angle each time you place a new set of two or three tiles.
