TF1 dusts off this classic of French literature with two stars starting here and Montmartre

It goes without saying that the Claire Romain-Benjamin Barochet duo is a winning formula for TF1! The channel has actually announced a new feature film, The Mystery of the Yellow Room, in which the two actors meet.

A free adaptation of “The Secret of the Yellow Room”.

Filming for this mini-series, which consists of six 52-minute episodes, began on Tuesday, October 21 and is taking place in the Valley du Verdon and the PACA region. If the title sounds familiar to you, that’s okay: it’s a “Free Modern Adaptation” From the novel by Gaston Leroux. Published in 1907, the work is part of the “Rouletabille” series, named after the protagonist Joseph Rouletabille, a highly intelligent young reporter who is the protagonist of several Leroux novels.

The Secret of the Yellow Room It has already been adapted for film several times, notably by Maurice Tourney (1913) and Bruno Podalides (2003). In 1965, a TV movie was also made with Claude Brasseur as a journalist-investigator.

In this new version, Roulette is a young woman, Jo, who “He is shocked to learn that an assassination attempt has taken place in his native village of L’Artouby, located in the Verdon valleys. He is devastated when he learns that the victim is none other than Mathilde, a close childhood friend who has been in a coma since the attack. The circumstances of the tragedy particularly intrigue him. There alone, but the armored door was closed and there was no other way out… but where could be Go striker?

The crime scene is both spectacular and mysterious. Accompanied by Sainclair, a successful podcaster who sees this as his next scoop, Joe returns to his childhood village to try to find out what happened to Matilda. But when Marseille’s biggest cop, Larsani, is sent to investigate to put an end to the media frenzy, he won’t take kindly to the parallel investigation of two sleazy journalists. Will they be able to solve the mystery of the Yellow Room?

Clair Romain and Benjamin Barroche are joined by Pierre-Yves Bonn, Barbara Schulz, Patrick DeCamp, Sophie Duez, Terence Telle, David Bayou and Chin Thibault, with Maddie Sadun and Michel Bernier in the cast.

Directed by François Vallée, The Secret of the Yellow Room is created by Sophie Dabb, Audrey Gagne and Sarah Farkas. The former collaborated on Season 3 of Zodiaque, which will soon return to TF1, while the latter worked on Marvel series Secret Invasion and Cat’s Eyes. Finally, Farkas worked on Vortex and Lent.

In Jo’s shoes we will find Claire Romain and Benjamin Barochet will play Larsen. The two actors first met on the set of Here It All Begins, where Romain plays Embre and Barochet plays the ruthless Tessier. Viewers then found them in Montmartre, the final two episodes of which will air on October 27. Set in Paris in 1899, this miniseries follows a cabaret dancer who becomes the capital’s first stripper.
