Recently, a homosexual couple in Brazil had a child, whose father is the mother of one of them, a temporary uterus donor. The baby was born healthy and was discharged the day after birth. Since 2013, according to the rules of the CFM (Federal Council of Medicine), male and female homosexual couples can perform assisted reproduction to generate a biological child.

It is necessary to carry out various tests and assisted reproduction techniques. Male couples require an egg donor and a temporary uterus donor, while female couples require a sperm donor.

To better understand the procedure, watch the video with Renato Fraietta, specialist in Human Reproduction at CPMR (Clínica Paulista de Medicina Reproductiva) and professor and coordinator of the Integrated Human Reproduction Sector at Unifesp.
