Beyond aesthetics, it is important that the environment meets the special needs of future residents and becomes a welcoming space.

Cozy spaces: create relaxing environments in your home

The house is a place of rest, a refuge from a hectic and exhausting routine, as well as being the space that offers us pleasant and special moments, alone or with the family. Or at least it should be. However, in order for the residence to be a place that offers an improvement in the quality of life and well-being, it is necessary to have pleasant and well-designed spaces.

“We all need that corner of the house to pamper us, feel at peace and recharge. This place can be a living room, a reading environment or place to practice hobbies. Having moments in places like these makes a difference in interior architecture “, underlines the architect Marina Carvalho, who directs the studio that bears her name.

Find out below how to transform a corner of the property into a relaxing environment:

Minibar

Having a mini-bar at home is a great option for those who like to gather guests or just have a drink collection. This small space is gaining more and more importance in Brazilian homes, as it is practical, functional and pleasant. Furthermore, it can add sophistication and modernity to the residence.

“It is worth remembering that it is very important to provide the electrical points for the supply of equipment. Furthermore, I do not give up a carpentry shop to have the accessories that accompany the moment”, he stresses.

Much more than just a balcony

The balcony can also be adapted for other purposes. As this environment is increasing in new ventures, it ends up taking on new functions in residential projects, being able to become a gourmet space, extension of the living room, dining room and home office, among other possibilities.

“It all depends on the size of the space and the lifestyle of the resident”, assesses the architect. In the renovation project of this apartment he completely modified the balcony, creating a delightful meeting place for the family with the insertion of a metal and glass roof.

reading corner

Designing an environment reserved for reading, where the resident can sit down, read a good book and disconnect from the world, is a very special mission. In this apartment, Marina took advantage of the wasted space in the social area and transformed it into a reading corner.

“As the bar is close to this small space, residents can also recline in an armchair, stretch their feet on the ottoman and have a drink to relax. This shows that everyone can use the space as they wish,” he concludes.
