Gabrielly and Douglas, who together form the ‘Maloka Couple’, were surprised by the invitation of a dental clinic to renew their smile
Homeless in Santos-SP, Gabriele Miguel25 years, and Douglas Martins, 33, began recording their daily lives on the sidewalks of the coastal city with a cellphone borrowed from a friend. Thanks to their charisma, Gabrielly and Douglas won over the public on social media with the name “Casal Maloka 013” – in reference to the area code of Baixada Santista.
The ‘Maloka couple’ with a new smile
Thanks to their high visibility online, trans hairdresser Gabrielly and app delivery driver Douglas were noticed by the owners of Clínica Viotto dentistry, who offered the couple specialized treatment and the promise of a completely new look. Due to lack of resources, both had only a few teeth. Others were worn out.
The proceedings took place in Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, in the hinterland of São Paulo. To do this, Gabrielly and Douglas stayed on the farm of the clinic owners. Another good deed! The transformation occurred in five days. Some teeth were extracted, others were implanted and, finally, the long-awaited contact lenses.
In a video, Gabrielly thanked her followers, justifying that, if it hadn’t been for the affection and encouragement of the public, none of this would have happened. “You made my dream come true. Let’s continue to be the same humble people”said the hairdresser.
Chain of good
Gabrielly and Douglas’ life on the Internet began recently. Despite this, the story behind it is long: they have been living on the streets for more than 7 years, and have been in a relationship for 6.
As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, he was a friend of the couple, Alexanderwho is also a delivery driver for the app, who encouraged them to start recording life on the streets, in the tent where they lived with their dog Milan. He, together with his companion, Kimberleythey form “megaloka2.0” and also share their daily life on the networks.
In fact, it was Alexandre who lent a bicycle so that his colleague could start working and his old smartphone so that Gabrielly and Douglas could start recording their videos.
Already with some recognition, a resident of Santos, outside Brazil, contacted the couple to announce that her apartment in the city was empty and that she would rent it to influencers for a reasonable price. The rent was paid for 6 months. With renewed smiles, Gabrielly and Douglas await the furniture for their new home.
