The customer orders a hamburger at the hotel and receives a “disclaimer” to sign

The case happened at the Hilton chain in Toronto, Canada

An American guest at a Hilton hotel in Toronto, Canada, ordered a hamburger to eat “rare” and was surprised with a “disclaimer” to sign.

He shared this unusual experience on social media and the issue went viral. The man said the waitress accepted the order without asking questions and the surprise came when the sandwich was delivered.

β€œHe brought him here and he was fantastic. When I took my first bite, he brought me a liability release and said they always make the meat well done, but since I wanted it medium rare, I would have to sign it,” she wrote.

The form stated that the hotel restaurant would be exempt from any claims for compensation for damages or illnesses contracted as a result of the chosen hamburger. The client wondered if this was a common practice in Canada. β€œI tried to be nice, so I paid and left, but I couldn’t eat the burger,” she wrote.
