Working anywhere becomes synonymous with quality of life

Working anywhere becomes synonymous with quality of life

For those who experience the office everywhere, the result also involves humanization and greater creativity at work

Interacting with other cultures, learning new languages, being near the sea or even exploring and learning about the city you live in were possibilities that people needed to plan that long-awaited vacation time. But today, with remote working, such activities have become a reality for many professionals, who see this flexibility as the ideal way to increase the quality of their lives. What we see today, in this scenario, is what the market has called Anywhere Office or “Office in Any Place”, in the free translation.

A recent Google Trends report shows that searches for “home office vacancies” on Google increased by more than 50% in 2023 compared to 2022, reflecting professionals’ growing interest in this type of job, at the same time as large companies are calling for a return to offices post-pandemic.

Another survey, conducted by HR Tech Infojobs in collaboration with Grupo Top RH, revealed that 85% of professionals would consider switching jobs to multiple days while working from home. In this scenario, the conclusion is that the debate on working models – whether remote, hybrid or in-person – has become central, with professionals increasingly appreciating flexibility in carrying out their tasks.

For Will Bank, a digital bank with over 6 million customers in Brazil, valuing the well-being, routine and needs of its employees is essential in the company culture, which is why a large number of them work remotely, giving them the freedom to choose to carry out your tasks from anywhere in the world. The result so far has been very positive.

Longer days, more dog walks

This scenario of possibilities was what caught the attention of data analyst Rafaela Ribeiro in her first month of living in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Born in Vitória, Espírito Santo, she had already lived in Bahia for five years and, at the end of 2023, she moved to the neighboring town.

Rafaela has been working at Will Bank for over two years, using the remote model, and her passion for travel, combined with the flexibility of being able to carry out her tasks from anywhere, was what influenced her decision to make the switch. You chose Argentina as your starting point, considering its proximity to Brazil and the ease of entry into the country.

“Here I have longer days, which allow me, after fulfilling my work obligations, to take advantage of two extra hours to walk my dog or explore new places to immerse myself in the local culture. This freedom would not be possible in a fixed office model, where daily commuting would limit opportunities,” says Rafaela, who is 30 and very excited about her new routine.

More plural perspectives, more human professionals

Ana Carolina Passos, brand analyst at the same bank, spent the entire year 2023 balancing remote work with the benefits of a nomadic life before settling in the city of Sao Paulo, considering it the ideal starting point for deciding on a new move or travel.

Together with her partner, who also has the same flexibility, Ana has shared this time living in five Brazilian states (Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Bahia, Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo) and in more than 15 European cities in Portugal, Italy , France and Spain. It was only at the end of 2023 that she chose to stay in the capital of Sao Paulo.

He says that the experience was very useful in reconciling professional commitments with the personal goals of the couple, who wanted to enjoy each destination with its different cultures and realities.

“Being in contact with other cultures only enriches your repertoire and offers you a more plural and sensitive vision of the world. I’m not only saying this to those who travel outside the country, but being able to leave the office environment, where we are all, in most cases, the same and have contact with other realities does nothing but ensure that companies have more professional professionals. qualified and humane”, defends Ana.

Another advantage for the professional, originally from Bahia, is that remote working allows her to be close to her family on special occasions.

Life at the seaside

Yasmin Baeta, marketing operations coordinator at Will Bank, after working for some time in São Paulo, returned to Juiz de Fora (MG) – her hometown – during the pandemic and this year decided to move to João Pessoa, Paraíba.

He says the decision had no bearing on his work and was based solely on what would be best for his personal life.

“It was the moment I thought about what would be best for me in terms of quality of life. This kind of possibility is something I consider non-negotiable. Today I can’t live without a home office,” she concludes.
