Benefits of avocado

“Avocado fats, called monounsaturated fats, are considered essential fatty acids, fundamental substances for our health, and have an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action, which helps in the prevention of chronic diseases. Furthermore, they act in the proliferation of beneficial flora in the intestine and help intestinal transit”, explains the specialist.

Renata cites studies showing the health benefits of avocado. One of them, published in 2022, revealed that people who regularly consume the fruit maintain better preserved cognitive prevention throughout the aging process.

Other research confirms the effects of regular avocado consumption on cardiovascular health. “It helps control blood pressure, cholesterol levels and improve markers of inflammation. Experts studied people with overweight, diabetes and hypertension and found that patients improved control parameters with regular consumption of avocado,” says the nutritionist.

The specialist also teaches that avocado has an extra component called lutein, which acts above all on vision health and protects the cells of the ocular system from premature aging.

Additionally, there is evidence that the food is a good choice for people who want to reduce body weight. “The fruit helps with satiety and reduces inflammation, which hinders the weight loss process. Consuming one serving of avocado for 12 weeks already demonstrates benefits on metabolic parameters in overweight people,” says Renata.
