14 small and organized kitchens

Organization and practicality are fundamental when designing a kitchen, in addition obviously to beauty. Get inspired by the projects below

Size is not important and, certainly, a small kitchen does not mean that all utensils have to be cramped. Check out these compact and very well organized kitchen projects:

The property was delivered with the kitchen closed. “Small, it was closed and dark, since the only window was the laundry room,” says architect Juliana Shwartzbaum. The solution was to knock down a wall and install a granite counter - ubatuba green, the same as the sink -, uniting the spaces and creating a good support area. High stools with purple seats and green feet add a touch of grace (Bienal, Fernando Jaeger)

The Subway tiles (Metro White, 10 x 20 cm, by Eliane. Toque and Retoque) cover only the two walls of the kitchen equipped with furniture, appliances and an L-shaped worktop.

On the floor, porcelain stoneware that imitates wood (Canela Dourada Natural AC, 1.20 x 0.20 m, by Portobello. C&C) gives warmth to the kitchen. On the walls next to the sink and behind the hob, ceramics with the look of hydraulic tiles (AC Mediterranean Tile, 60 x 60 cm, by Ceusa. Leroy Merlin) add charm to the space. Project by architect Isabel Amorim

The architect took advantage of the sink and the original brick wall of the balcony and built the kitchen from there. With the new, more spacious location, the room has gained an island (0.93 x 1.07 x 1.40 m*) equipped with a hob built into Itaúnas granite, an electric oven and a niche to hide the washing machine and dryer, there is already no room for laundry. This structure also features a dining corner, with two high stools. Project by architect Marcela Madureira.

Despite being compact, the kitchen stands out for the blue finish of the furniture and the sink top, made of silestone. Project by architect Renata Lemos

In the American kitchen, height-adjustable black stools (Mobly) and White Electrified Rail lamp

To avoid leaving the space too sober, the professionals opted for a retro and more feminine wall covering (Liverpool, by Portobello, 24 x 7 cm, color Pink Chá. Portobello Shop). Project by architect Thaís Margonari Bechara Sanches, partner of the Madi Arquitetura e Design studio together with Fatima Oliveira Cima and Juliana de Cássia Distefano

The resident decided she wanted green furniture, and with that, she ended up setting the starting point for creating the apartment's color palette. The architect suggested combining the tone with a woody pattern and ordered colored modules covered in matt laminate (L 113 Oficial Green, by Formica): this way it is possible to leave chalk notes on the doors and then clean them with a damp cloth . The retro vibe of the pieces really pleased the resident:

Integration is the strong point of the project, and the few dividers do not go unnoticed. In the rounded corner between the kitchen and the service area, a graceful screen with hollow elements (painted in Canary Yellow latex, by Suvinil) was created, which contributes to natural lighting and ventilation. Project by architect Bruna Carrà

Optimizing the kitchen was one of the priorities: knocking down two walls improved the lighting, integrated the room into the living room and opened the way for the worktop that serves as a dining table.

The furniture features wood finishes, which provide warmth, and white, which brightens the area. Project by architects Alice Martins and Flávio Butti, of the AMFB studio.

Porcelain tile inspired by hydraulic tiles is the trademark of the kitchen. From Portobello, the 20 x 20 cm pieces are part of the Rio Retrô lines. Project by architect Suellen Volpert

The U-shaped bench, with top and sides in Silestone (Cosentino), allows the spouses to prepare dinners without missing what is happening in the room. Made to measure, it embraces the remaining column of the old divider with the living room, as well as the two shelves on the window wall. Project by architect Francesco Picciallo, studio Brita
