Make baby food even more attractive with the use of essences and aromatic products

After introducing my three daughters to food, I have acquired a large repertoire of baby foods. This is a phase full of challenges and desires, our expectation as parents is that the child begins to eat and love everything that is offered to him. Unfortunately this is not the reality. This is a long process that requires patience and creativity.

You must offer a certain food at least 11 times, even if it is rejected. Just like adults, children may not be in the mood to eat that thing on one specific day and love it on another.

Another important thing is to vary the preparation of the food, for example the apple can be cut raw, cooked and mashed, or even in porridge. This will ensure that the child has tasted and approved or disapproved of the food.

I’m sharing a delicious apple oatmeal recipe that is always a big hit!

Oat porridge with apple

ingredients

  • 2 cups of water
  • 1/2 apple chopped
  • Cinnamon powder
  • Vanilla drops
  • 1 and a half tablespoons of oat bran

Way of doing

In a saucepan, add 1 cup of water, the chopped apple, a pinch of cinnamon and drops of vanilla, two are enough. Cook over medium-low heat until the water has dried and the apple is soft. Once the water has dried, add another cup of water and the oats, stirring continuously. When it starts to boil, let it thicken slightly and remove it from the heat. This step takes 3 minutes. Transfer to a plate and top with more cinnamon. If your baby is still very small, just mash the apple pieces with a fork.

To make polenta with other flavours, simply replace the fruit or make it with vegetable milk. The use of essences and aromatic products is always welcome to guarantee a different flavor and broaden the child’s palate.
