Homemade beans and bacon recipe
Preparation time: 50 minutes
Performance: 6 servings
Difficulty level: easy
Ingredients:
- 500 g of carioca beans
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 cup diced bacon
- 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 rib bouillon cube
- 4 tablespoons chopped chives
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Preparation method:
- In a pressure cooker, over medium heat, place the beans, bay leaf, beetroot and cover with water.
- Cover and cook for 40 minutes, from when the pressure starts.
- Turn off the heat, wait for the pressure to release naturally and open the pan.
- Remove the beetroot without discarding it and set the beans aside.
- In another pan, over medium heat, fry the bacon in its own fat until golden brown.
- Add the garlic and rib broth.
- Fry until the broth dissolves, pour the water over the cooked beans and cook until thickened.
- Turn off and sprinkle with chopped chives.
- If desired, peel cooked beetroot and serve in salad or with beans.
