Day 2: Forest, paratroopers and leather invade the SPFW parades

The second day of the 60th edition of SPFW he’s still doing well, with just three saves. The event really takes off from Thursday 16th, when most of the presentations will be concentrated at the Pavilhão das Culturas Brasileiras, in Ibirapuera, reaching eight in a single day. The event will end on the 20th and will have 38 presentations.

But the three brands that presented their collection this Tuesday (16th), in different locations in São Paulo, paraded not only clothes, but also ideas and gave shows of performance and creativity.

Flavia Aranha started the day carrying the forest on Avenida Paulista. He showed more than 30 looks made with biomaterials, seeds, algae and latex from the Amazon among the trees and the sound of indigenous songs and water. An oasis amidst the concrete.

Then, leather goods specialist Patricia Viera went back in time and presented a collection inspired by 1970s London, with lots of flowers, polka dots and tartan checks. The final dress had more than 50,000 hand-applied mini flowers.

From the theater of the Iguatemi shopping center, SPFW moved to Campo de Marte, in the North Zone of São Paulo. There, a show with four parachutists jumping from a helicopter kicked off the Forca Studio parade, which wants to make new flights, reaching audiences of all ages. There were more than 50 looks in leather, lightweight and rubberized fabrics mixed in shades of brown, black, beige, green, white and off-white, proving that the basics also include loose patterns, cuts and textures, but all are comfortable. Remember the parades:

Trianon Park was the stage for the parade Flavia Aranhareturned to SPFW after a period of absence. Always linked to sustainability, the designer has multiplied this concern for nature and brought fashion to the forest.

It features fabrics made with seaweed mixed with cotton threads, or developed with Amazonian mallow fiber, as well as silk raincoats mixed with natural latex. There was also no shortage of Amazonian seeds and natural dyes, with bark, teas and bacterial dyes and even cassava.

The carioca Patrizia Vierawho makes real couture with leather, returned in the 70s, to London, where he began his career. The atmosphere of flower power set the tone for the presentation at the recently inaugurated Teatro Iguatemi, in the eponymous shopping center, a partner of SPFW.

The floral prints blossomed on dresses, trousers, skirts, tops and shirts, culminating in the long dress with 50 thousand small colored flowers, applied by nine embroiderers, in a job that lasted a month.

The Forca parade began with a parachuting show, in Campo de Marte, in northern São Paulo. Following, the presentation with 50 looks, with Alinne Moraes AND Vittoria Strada as models.

Comfort is the word that guides the style of the brand, with leather and rubberized garments, but also fluid fabrics, which act as a counterpoint to looks with structured jackets alongside light, loose skirts and trousers.
