Cod pie stuffed with catupiry: a better recipe than the traditional one

And this isn’t just any stuffed cod pie! The filling in question is the classic – and irresistible – Catupiry cream cheese. Impossible to resist, so preparing this recipe today is almost mandatory.

In fact, no matter the occasion: any day, a meeting with friends or watching your favorite movie, this snack is always welcome!

Stuffed cod pie




Time: 1 hour (+24 hours soaking)

Ingredients:

  • 500 g of cod flakes
  • 500 g peeled potatoes, diced
  • 1 small onion grated
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 4 tablespoons of flour
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup (tea) Catupiry® cream cheese
  • Fry oil

Preparation method:

  1. Leave the cod to soak in water in the refrigerator for 24 hours, changing the water 3 times.
  2. Drain and place in a pan.
  3. Add the bay leaf, cover with water and place over medium heat.
  4. Cook for 10 minutes and remove.
  5. Cook the potatoes in the cod water for 15 minutes or until softened.
  6. Pass while still hot in the citrus juicer.
  7. Add the cod cut into pieces, the onion, the parsley, the flour, the salt and the pepper and mix.
  8. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition.
  9. Take a part of the dough with a spoon and shape it with slightly greased hands, forming an elongated dumpling.
  10. Insert your index finger into the center forming a well.
  11. Position the Catupiry® and close by shaping.
  12. Fry a little at a time in hot oil until golden brown.
  13. Drain on absorbent paper and serve.
