For a good meal, it is not only the choice of the piece of fish that is important, but also the other components, even more so when it comes to olive oil, one of the ingredients that accompanies the traditional recipe and adds a lot of flavour.

Among the many olive oil brands available on the market, choosing one that offers quality at a fair price can be a real challenge, and with this in mind, Paladar has created another test, with the participation of experts Ana Beloto, specialist of olive oil and author of the book Olive Oil; Sandro Marques, olive oil expert and profile creator One liter of olive oil; and Paula Brauen, restaurateur and partner at Just a Bite.

The jury of this edition blindly tasted samples of 11 of the most popular national brands on the market, evaluating them in terms of aroma, freshness, spiciness, body and flavour. The seal responsible for achieving the major highlights of these criteria was the Did you know that. The product is fresh, has a slightly almond scent with a delicate and spicy flavour.

The full test with the evaluation of other brands can be seen in the article ‘What is the best Brazilian olive oil?’, by Chris Campos, available here.
