There are four self-guided routes, plus a beautiful beach for those who want to spread out their towel.
Guarita State Park, inside Torres, is a beautiful surprise on the coast of Rio Grande do Sul. The most enchanting thing are the actual basalt “towers” – from which the city’s name derives. The beach, with good waves, is very popular with surfers.
There are four: the North Tower, the Central Tower and the South Tower, as well as the small Healed Tower. These formations originated from geological movements during the separation between the American and African continents.

To get to know them there are four free and self-guided trails, of varying difficulty, all starting from the CAT Guarita point. The simplest is the Blue Trail, which goes around the sandbar and takes about an hour. 1 km route to be completed. The Green Path, also easy, is 1.5 km long and takes about 70 minutes on foot (or 50 minutes by bike). Of moderate difficulty, the Orange Trail is 2.2km long and takes around two hours to complete, and goes around the entire complex. The last is the Red Trail, considered difficult, which is 2.6 km long and requires about 150 minutes of walking.

About 200 km from Porto Alegre, the park is very close to the border between Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. One piece of advice is to do a double with Santa Catarina Great beacha 45-minute drive from there – the destination is famous for its hot air balloon rides overlooking the canyons.
Entrance to the park is subject to a fee only for those arriving by vehicle: the fee is R$20 in high season (which runs from 15 December to 1 May) and R$10 in low season (the rest of the year). For motorbikes the price is halved.
