Sweet potatoes in the Airfryer with results just like French fries, but much healthier




A golden and crunchy sweet potato on the outside, but very soft on the inside, made with the Airfryer

SWEET POTATO Ingredients

– 1 unit(s) of sweet potato, medium(s)

– Salt to taste

– melted unsalted butter to taste, for brushing (or olive oil)

PREPARATION:

  1. Separate the ingredients and utensils for the recipe.
  2. #Top Tip: Sprinkling or brushing sweet potatoes with a light layer of fat helps them create a crispier skin, while also adding another layer of flavor to the preparation. However, this technique is not mandatory and, if you prefer, sweet potatoes can be roasted without fat.
  3. If you prefer to use butter and opt for butter, place it in a non-metallic bowl and heat it in the microwave for 20-30 seconds to melt it.
  4. Preheat the Airfryer to 180°C for approximately 5 minutes.

PREPARATION:

Sweet Potatoes in the Airfryer:

  1. Wash the sweet potatoes under running water and dry them well: sweet potatoes can be roasted with or without their skins.
  2. Cut the sweet potato, widthwise, into 2 or 3 pieces, depending on the size of the sweet potato and/or your preference.
  3. Next, cut the sweet potato in half lengthwise and each half into sticks – the number of sticks depends on the thickness of the sweet potato.
  4. #tip – Lightly brush (optional) the sweet potatoes with melted butter or olive oil.
  5. Arrange the sweet potato sticks in the Airfryer basket, one next to the other, without overlapping them and place the basket in the drawer. If you are preparing a larger quantity, divide it into several stages.
  6. Close the drawer and cook the sweet potatoes for about 30 minutes, or until crisp and golden on the outside and soft on the inside (this time may vary depending on the size of the sticks and the power of your equipment).
  7. Halfway through cooking, open the Airfryer and turn the sweet potatoes so they brown evenly.
  8. 5 minutes before the end of cooking, open the drawer, add the salt and mix – continue cooking.
  9. When they are cooked and golden, remove the basket from the Airfryer.

FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:

  1. Arrange the toothpicks sweet potatoes in the Airfryer on a serving plate or, if you prefer, distribute it on plates next to your main course.
