The two horses won by the gaucho are of a breed considered rustic and can be used both for work in the fields and for competing in competitions. The value of the animal, considered high performance, can reach millions of dollars.
According to the Brazilian Association of Crioulo Horse Breeders (ABCCC), the values of animals of this breed normally vary between R $ 4 thousand AND R$ 15 thousand. However, in 2014 a horse of the same species was sold for R$ 16 million, due to the high genetic standard. It was the most expensive Creole in history.
The Crioula race has its roots in the mixture of Andalusian and Berber blood, brought to the American continent by Spanish explorers in the first years after the discovery of Brazil. Currently the breed is found throughout the country, especially in Rio Grande do Sul.
“I think you really deserve it, Matteus, because you put the Creole horse in your heart,” Jayme said in a video posted to Instagram. (Check below)
