How to stretch jeans if you underestimated yourself or got the wrong size: all working methods

Well-fitted jeans are a wardrobe staple and a source of endless self-confidence. But what to do if the pair turns out to be too tight and you’re literally missing a few centimeters of happiness? That’s what !

Be careful, this is a very useful article! There’s no “Go buy some more jeans” option here. Plus, jeans that fit great to begin with may shrink after washing or start to bunch in unexpected places — and you just need a little breathing room (and some good advice).

Method 1: drip

  1. Take a spray bottle and fill it with warm (!) water – preferably, filtered water from a kettle may contain impurities which affect the appearance of the fabric, especially light colored ones;
  2. Spray water on the areas of your jeans that you want to soften and stretch. If you don’t have a spray bottle nearby, use paper towels soaked in warm water and place them in critical areas.
  3. Stretch wet areas by pulling at the sides.
  4. Now try on the jeans and if you don’t get enough stretch, repeat all the steps.

Method 2: wet

  1. Wet the jeans completely in lukewarm water – in a bathtub or sink.
  2. Put them on (it can be hard, we know, we’ve tried) – and start doing things that will help them stretch – squats, lunges, backbends. Walking and sitting also work very well. This will help loosen and soften the threads.
  3. The jeans should dry on their own, but if you’re cold or just don’t feel like walking around in wet pants, take them off and dry them in the cool air (not in the dryer).

Ready! You can now be photographed in these jeans in a fashion lookbook!
