Bike trips throughout Brazil


Cycling routes lasting from three to eight days pass through natural and historical attractions

RedeTrilhas was created to promote tourist activities carried out with the use of non-motorized means of transport. The initiative is carried out by volunteers in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA) and the Chico Mendes Institute for the Conservation of Biodiversity (ICMBio).




Brazil currently has approximately 10,604 km of marked trails which constitute already consolidated tourist products. Part of these paths, identified by the yellow and black footprints symbol, can be traveled by bicycle. Discover some in each region of the country:

1. Volta das Transitions Trail, Minas Gerais

In Minas Gerais, the highlight is the Path of the return of transitions. The name was chosen for the region in which the route is located, an area with important passages of vegetation, relief, history and culture. The route passes through ten municipalities, with the possibility of stops at historic churches, coffee plantations, waterfalls and panoramic points of Conceição do Ibitipoca. The route is considered difficult, with a distance of 390 km and a duration of seven days. The nearest airport is Zona da Mata Regional, which is 182 km away.

2. Path of the Holy Martyrs of the Missions, Rio Grande do Sul

In Rio Grande do Sul, the Path of the Holy Martyrs of the Missions It has a route considered moderate of 180 km, which can be covered in three days by bicycle. The path connects the Father’s step until the Sanctuary of Caarò, following in the footsteps of the first Jesuit reductions on the soil of Rio Grande do Sul. The route takes place largely on rural roads and connects small towns, archaeological sites and immigrant communities. The trailhead is located in the rural area of Saint Nicholas562 km away Porto Alegre and 135 km from Santo Ângelo airport.

3. Atlantic Amazon Trail, Pará

Perfect for enjoying the Amazon biome, the Atlantic Amazon Trail covers 17 municipalities of the state of Pará, including the capital Bethlehem. The route passes through the largest continuous mangrove strip on the continent, through quilombole lands and includes many opportunities for swimming in streams and rivers. The route is considered moderate, with a total of 460 km, and can be done in seven days. It starts at Bethlehem Cathedralin the Old Town neighborhood.

4. Caminho das Ararunas, Paraíba

A Caminho das Ararunas path allows you to admire the Caatinga, passing through waterfalls and particular rock formations. It covers the Municipalities of Araruna, Dona Inês, Riachão, Tacíma AND Cuité, in Paraíba, the route is rated moderate to difficult. There are 130 km that can be covered in six to eight days. The closest airport is Campina Grande100km.

5. Path of Cora Coralina, Goiás

In Goiás, the Cora Coralina path covers eight municipalities, Corumbá de Goiás in Pirenopolis. Rated medium to difficult, the route is 300km long and can be completed in six days. Cyclists pass by the waterfalls Corumba jumpTHE Pyrenees Mountains and historic buildings. Until Corumbá de Goiáswhich is the starting point of the path, from which 115 km start Brasilia and 113km departing from Goiania.
