Vans launches its most technological skate shoe: the Ave 2.0 Knit

Vans Ave 2.0 Knit was created in collaboration with the famous skateboarder Anthony Van Engelen and features a pattern that can be placed on sandpaper

Vans’ Skateboarding division has combined the brand’s most advanced technology with the style, power and fluidity of Anthony Van Engelen to present the new Ave 2.0 Knit. Vans’ latest skate shoe isn’t just about technology, it’s also the embodiment of one of the most respected skateboarders in history. “20 years ago, skate shoes simply seemed technological. Now we are in the future, where innovative and technological design translates into cutting-edge products that reflect the performance of the session,” shares Anthony Van Engelen about the new AVE 2.0.

With over 20 years of skateboarding experience, Van Engelen continues to win fans with his unique approach and willingness to push the limits. The mentality of never giving up and always striving for perfection is reflected in his new sneaker and the AVE 2.0 is designed to exceed expectations.

The centerpiece of the design begins with the tech mesh and knit upper, which incorporates the Sock Fit solution for a better fit at the instep and heel, as well as increasing breathability during skate sessions. The front of the shoe is reinforced with RapidWeld suede inserts, offering a seamless construction and increased board feel.

“In practice, I found the sneaker material to be very comfortable, lightweight and breathable,” says AVE. “When combined with suede in the most high-wear areas of the shoe, it creates an excellent blend of design and performance.”
