The gastronomic event includes pasta, pizza and polenta stands, as well as Italian music performances
In June, Germanic culture gives way to Italian culture in Blumenau. Now in its 29th edition, Festitália will celebrate the tradition of Italian immigrants in Itajaí Valley.
This is primarily a foodie event, with food stalls dotted around Park of the Villa Germanica – the same place where the Oktoberfest and the Blumenau Easter.
A total of 50 dishes are confirmed for this year, including pasta, pizza and polenta-based dishes. The menu will feature new items such as polenta churros, pasta prepared with cheese, focaccias and naturally fermented breads filled with sauces.
The wine list will feature Brazilian, Italian and national labels, but local breweries will also be present at the event.
As usual, typical dance shows and musical performances are scheduled. On Thursday 13 June the event will open with a performance by the Amazing Tenors, with Andrea Bocelli’s greatest hits. Another highlight is the Felice Itália orchestra, which will bring great successes of Italian music on Saturday 22 June.
The news is that the opening hours of the festival will be extended to Saturday: in previous editions the pavilions closed at 4pm for the siesta and reopened at 7pm; this year, the Festitalia it will work right away.
