The renovation of the rental house creates an outdoor kitchen and living room with boiserie

Abrazo Interiores, led by Juliana Kulesza, focused on maximizing the potential of the space by reusing some of the furniture.

The challenge of transforming a rented house into a welcoming and functional home, located in Jardim Europa, São Paulo, was faced by the team of Embrace the interiorled by Juliana Kulesza, interior design, in collaboration with clients Mariah and Júlio, for the second time.

“We know the specific needs of the couple, we negotiate with the owners essential improvements, such as renovating the kitchen, creating a outdoor kitchen and the opening vents to increase natural lighting in the living room and dining room” explains Giuliana.

The project includes a TV room, a living room with living and dining areas, a kitchen, an outdoor area with kitchen and barbecue and the couple’s bedroom, each space carefully designed to meet the needs and lifestyle of the residents, reflecting their personal taste, comfort and functionality.

The approach was focused maximize the potential of the spacereusing part of the furnishings selected for the previous project and introducing boiserie to add texture, as requested by the couple, who preferred to avoid colors on the walls.

The second collaboration between the team and Mariah and Júlio resulted in significant aesthetic adjustments. The woodwork around the rooms provides texture and intimacy, while the reuse of previous furniture and objects has been done masterfully, avoiding any feeling of improvisation. Carpetspaintings and lamps have been carefully selected to delineate the spaces and define their functions.

Choosing not to paint the walls, but simply black doors, handrails and windows, the project has acquired a contemporary and sophisticated air. However, the interventions were not limited to the aesthetic aspect alone. The couple negotiated structural improvements with the owner, raising the standard of the kitchens, one internal and one external granite countertops and two-tone woodworktransforming them into the heart of the home.

“As for the work, we completed it in about 4 months, carried out quickly and efficiently, with particular attention to the quality of the kitchen carpentry” concludes the professional.
