The renovation of the apartment eliminates the toilet to expand and integrate the kitchen into the living room


Estúdio Maré, under the guidance of architect Lívia Leite, opted for porcelain stoneware as the main covering to add practicality to the 136 m² apartment.

OR Sea Studio, under the guidance of architect Lívia Leite, recently completed the apartment renovation project. With a total surface area of 136 m2, the project was designed to meet the needs of a couple with two children, who wanted a complete renovation to revitalize the environment and adapt it to their contemporary lifestyle.




The clients’ main objective was to integrate the rooms and make the environment more functional for family gatherings. The main strategic intervention of demolish the bathroom that separated the kitchen from the living roomallowing for a larger, more connected feel to the spaces, which has led to greater interaction between residents and guests.

The use of porcelain stoneware was a strategic choice for the living room and kitchen, with particular attention to the shade of blue chosen specifically for the kitchen. Not only this tone subtly delimits the spacesbut it also adds personality to the environment.

The integration between the living room and the terrace was essential, ensuring a generous entrance natural light and panoramic views of the surrounding woods.

In the social room, a large panel with friezes and mimicked doors, creating an elegant and functional environment for the dining area. In the children’s room they were designed custom made bunk beds in carpentry to maximize spaces and create specific areas for study and rest.

The couple’s closet was split sideways to create a calm and welcoming environment. The bathrooms have undergone a complete renovation with the aim of improving their functionality and comfort, as well as renewing their appearance.
