Yogurt and green tea cake: use the drink differently

Did you know that, in addition to being super healthy drinks, teas are increasingly present in sweet and even savory recipes? This is the case, for example, of this one yogurt cake and green tea.

Yogurt and green tea cake


  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 vegetable oil
  • 1 full cup of yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 2 tablespoons culinary matcha or green tea powder
  • 2 and 1/3 cup wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soup

Preparation method

In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and green tea. Reserve. In a small bowl, mix the oil and eggs with a whisk (just until combined), add the yogurt and vanilla. Add the egg mixture to the dry mixture and mix until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps. Bake at 180ºC – 200ºC for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the dough comes out clean.
