Will the Shelby brothers come out? What do we know about the feature film “Peaky Blinders”

The “Peaky Blinders” series: will there be a new season? – that’s what we’ve been asking Steven Knight since the broadcast of the intriguing sixth episode of the sixth season. And pretty quickly he replies: no, there won’t be any, but wait for the film, and maybe more than one! Here’s what we know so far (spoiler alert: it’s a lot).

Dates are already being agreed – Steven Knight has confirmed that the script is undergoing final revisions. Filming will begin no later than December 2023. They will take place in Birmingham – in Digbeth and Small Hall, the original habitats of the “visors”.

The period between 2024 and 2025 is tentatively called. It’s a long wait, of course, but we really hope it’s worth it!

Knight says of the film’s plot that it will be “a very specific story told in a Blinders style.” Period: World War II.

The undoubted advantage of the series is its unique casting. Audiences fell in love with Tom Hardy, Sophie Rundle, Natasha O’Keeffe and, of course, would love to see them again in Peaky Blinders. There was also information that the storyline would contain flashbacks, scenes from the past that shed light on new events, and in such episodes favorite actors could appear, whose deaths on the screen the audience accepted.

Sadly, the brilliant Helen McRory, who played Aunt Polly, the matriarch of the family, died of cancer in the spring of 2021. But fans of “Visors” expect that in the feature film they will be able to see archival footage of his participation.

To the main question, whether the iconic Shelby brothers – Cillian Murphy and Paul Anderson – will return, Knight always answers evasively. Murphy himself has said in previous interviews that he knew there would be a film, but had not yet been invited to it. We really hope we’ve fixed it already!

“There are so many big players that we are already in talks with. I think we want to continue to surprise people and discover new talents,” says Steven Knight of the Peaky Blinders feature film cast.

But for fans of Stephen Stephen Graham (gangster Al Capone), there is excellent news: he will be in the film and his character will play an important role in the plot.

It is also very likely that in the film we will see Charlotte Riley again in the role of the aristocratic horse breeder May Carlton.

Let’s fix this! However, Knight himself and members of his team admitted that they were very interested in the plight of Birmingham’s working class and in the formation of a new generation of “Peaky Blinders”. Maybe when the upcoming movie ends the story of our beloved Shelby family members and their relatives and friends, we’ll find out who replaced them.
