Who was Saint Sara Kali?

The term Kali, in India, means black, which is why it contains it in its name. Some authors, such as for example Dan BrownwriterDa Vinci’s codeclaim that she was the daughter of Mary Magdalene with Jesus Christ. Other people also say that he helped free Jesus and witnessed his crucifixion. And one of the narratives surrounding her is that she was a servant of Mary and Mary Magdalene. There are many beliefs, because there are no official documents about it.

However, the most widespread is that it was thrown into the Mediterranean Sea next to Mary Magdalene, Maria Salome AND Maria Cleophas so that they would die of hunger and thirst. According to tradition, the Holy Grail I was with them at the time. Sara prayed for the best to happen to her and it confirmed her God that if they survived, she would never take off her veil again: the act of hiding her hair was synonymous with respect and purity. The request was granted. Sara Kali and the Three Marys arrived in a city in the south of France, called Saintes Marie de La Meron May 24th.

Why is she the patron saint of gypsies?

They saved As Marias first and left Sara because she is black, according to what they say. Those who welcomed her were the people Gypsy, who lived hidden and on the margins of society. Sara decided to stay there and pass on the word of Jesus Christ. Over time, the gypsies became very devoted to Saint Sara Kali after her death. Some say women asked her for fertility and many gypsies asked for protection.

Subsequently, in 1712, the Catholic Church canonized her, but never said much about her. Today women who wish to become pregnant, the desperate and those who desire prosperity, love and health turn to it.
