With current finishes, the environment is elegant and functional
It is on the property inherited from his father that the financial director José Ricardo Belfort grew up. Turnkey, he and his wife, psychologist Renatha Belfort, came to the conclusion that the much-needed renovation would in no way diminish the apartment’s emotional value. So they decided to start with the room that needed the most changes: the bathroom. To help them with the task, the couple called Ana Brito and Walter Mendonça, from Arquiteto em Casa. Initially hired only to provide consultancy, the professionals ended up taking over the entire project and supervising the work. “They were essential. If I had to chase everything and deal with unforeseen circumstances, it wouldn’t have worked,” Renatha says.
Current and much more practical
º The old pedestal sink has given way to a modern semi-recessed sink: to do this it was necessary to move the water collection points and drains by a few centimetres. A granite countertop with a high skirt and pediment and a custom cabinet with a waste bin built into the side also came into play.
º After removing the dated-looking coverings, the walls were painted in an off-white shade, while the floor and bathroom area were fitted with porcelain tiles that imitate burnt concrete.
º Since José Renato measures 2 m, the new box deviates from the standard, measuring 2.41 m high.
