The supplement also helps maintain muscle mass without strength training

Some say losing weight during menopause is a complex task, right? But here comes the news! Like this? The study available in The Journal of Nutrition cites the benefits of whey protein in post-menopause, calorie restriction and overweight.

Discover the benefits of whey protein in postmenopause

The intent of this study was to determine the MPS (muscle protein synthesis) response to whey protein consumed after energy restriction. Influenced by short-term diet in overweight, postmenopausal women, at rest and after physical activity.

Therefore, scientists have studied whey protein supplementation in calorie restriction with or without resistance training. And also in women who did not comply with the training. But they took an “extra” dose of whey, identified as preserving lean body mass.

A dose of 35 g of whey protein consumed with or without resistance exercise is sufficient to stimulate maximal MPS response after short-term energy restriction in overweight postmenopausal women.

Finally, it is believed to provide a protein recommendation per serving to mitigate muscle loss during a weight loss program.
