Corn flour and fennel cake
Time: half past one
Performance: 8 servings
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs (whites and yolks separated)
- 2 1/2 cups (tea) sugar
- 3 tablespoons peanut butter
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup and 1/2 cup (tea) wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon of yeast
- 2 cups milk (tea)
- 1 cup and 1/2 cup (tea) cornmeal
- Margarine and wheat flour for greasing
Preparation method:
- Using a mixer, beat the egg yolks with the sugar, peanut butter and butter.
- Add the cornmeal, flour, yeast, fennel and milk, beating well.
- Add the whipped egg whites, mixing without beating.
- Pour into a buttered and floured 30cm diameter cake tin.
- Bake in a preheated medium oven for about 45 minutes until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
- Unmold and serve.
