The cities of the interior of the state of Rio de Janeiro and also the capital Rio de Janeiro have an intense program this winter, with good music and gastronomy. Here are six tips for the next few weeks:
Delights of the Coffee Valley
From 7 to 16 June, 11 municipalities of Rio de Janeiro will host the third edition of the Gastronomic Festival Delights of the Coffee Valley . The festival brings together around 100 participants including bars, pastry shops, sandwich shops and restaurants, as well as historic farms, which will serve exclusive recipes for the event at fixed prices: starters from R$39, main courses from R$68 to R$88, sandwiches at R$39 , desserts at R$39 and snacks at R$53.
The participating cities are those that are part of the Vale do Café region, in the south of Rio de Janeiro: Valença, Vassouras, Barra do Piraí, Piraí, Engenheiro Paulo de Frontin, Mendes, Rio das Flores, Miguel Pereira, Paty do Alferes, Paraíba do Sul and Rio Claro.
Serra Wine Week
In the mountainous region, in Petrópolis, the Serra Wine Week wine festival takes place until June 16th. Restaurants, bistros, hotels and other businesses will offer discounts of up to 30% on labels of different nationalities. The wine list was selected by sommeliers from the region.
Musical programming in the Le Canton resort, in Teresópolis
In Teresópolis the musical program will be highlighted: the singer’s show will take place on June 8th Beautiful, who will present his romantic repertoire in the days before Valentine’s Day. The show will take place at the Le Canton resort starting at 10.30pm. Tickets are available starting from R$60 and can be purchased on the website.
The hotel will welcome the pagoda group on July 6th Less is more and the singer Matthew Fernandes. Tickets start at R$40 and can be purchased on the site.
Maua Blues
There will be two very blues days in Itatiaia, June 7th and 8th. The event will take place in Vale Criativo, a fascinating multicultural complex surrounded by nature, known for its connection with music, theatre, culture and sustainability. Tickets are available at place and it is possible to purchase single dates or a passport for both days, at the price of R$440. You can get a 50% discount on the ticket price by bringing a children’s book as a donation.
I LOVE PRIO Blues and Jazz Festival
In the capital Rio there will also be a lot of blues until June 9th. At the Jockey Club, located in the Gávea region, shows, exhibitions, performances, music and mixology workshops will be held.
