5 methods to treat your problem with this nasty bug
Despite being super disgusting, cockroaches appearing inside the house or apartment are quite common.
These parasites thrive in humane conditions, run through every little hole in the drain, and can be difficult to catch, either because you are disgusted, you don’t have the courage to chase them for fear of them climbing on you, or they are simply faster and flying.

According to pest control experts, you can get rid of cockroaches with five natural remedies. From coffee grounds to dish soap, these repellents can help you get rid of them naturally and permanently:
sugar and borax
Borax is effective for cockroach infestations because it slowly dries up the insects’ exoskeleton, affects their digestive systems, and eventually kills them. The recommended thing is to mix borax and sugar in a 3: 1 ratio before sprinkling the homemade detergent in the places where you have noticed them.
mint oil
Peppermint oil is one of the most popular pest control products on the market, so it’s no surprise that this remedy is also effective in curing a cockroach infestation.
The spray of this oil can discourage these insects in a non-toxic way and is safe to use on children. Mix 15 drops of peppermint oil with 290ml of water before spraying the formula around the infested areas.
Detergent
If you know how to clean stains from your favorite fabric, you must already know the power of the detergent. A solution of soap and water can suffocate and kill cockroaches. Put four tablespoons of dish soap in a quart of water in a spray bottle and spread it where you have noticed activity.
Coffee grounds
Your coffee pot residues can be used to clean furniture and is good for plants! But on top of all this, it also manages to stop these parasites. This is because cockroaches are attracted to the aroma of ground coffee, which means it is the perfect trap.
Arrange the powder in small paper cups and place these cups in jars filled with water, then place the jar against walls or baseboards where you saw the bugs. The smell draws them into the trap, where they won’t be able to escape. Discard the content the next day.
Lemon juice
Lemons have natural properties that keep cockroaches away. Add two to three tablespoons of lemon juice to a few gallons of water in a bucket before mixing and washing problem areas with a mop.

- Empty your trash regularly or keep it closed. These insects aren’t actually picky about what they eat, and there’s no more unpleasant surprise than lifting the bin lid to find them digging through it;
- Don’t leave dishes in the sink: they are always looking for food and this is as attractive to them as food left on the counters (which must also be kept in closed containers);
- Don’t leave out your pets’ uneaten food – this also attracts rodents;
- Vacuum the floor after meals. Even the crumbs of earth are enough to feed them;
- do not offer water. Remember that sink full of water? Bathroom faucets dripping? Pet water bowls? They are also excellent sources of water for thirsty cockroaches.
