Fish moqueca, with cheap, delicious and simple to prepare fish: see step by step




How to make it in a short time, with the right ingredients and fish that make moqueca even tastier.

Ingredients of fish moqueca

– 400 g of dogfish fillet of your choice, as long as it is firm. (or sea bass fillet)

– 2 tablespoons of olive oil

– 2 tablespoons of palm oil

– 150 ml of coconut milk

– 2 cloves of garlic, chopped

– 1 onion(s) sliced

– 1 unit of tomato, sliced

– 1/4 unit of yellow pepper, without the white part, in strips of approximately 0.5 cm

– 1/4 unit of green pepper, without the white part, in strips of approximately 0.5 cm

– 1/2 unit of chilli pepper, seedless, chopped

– coriander to taste, chopped

– parsley to taste, chopped

– green onion to taste, chopped

– Salt to taste

– pepper to taste THE

Lemon farofa ingredients

– 40 g of unsalted butter

– 1 cup(s) of cassava flour sieved

– 1 unit of lemon, only the zest.

– Salt to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Separate all ingredients and utensils for the recipe.
  2. The ideal fish for making moqueca are firm, so they do not fall apart during cooking and can be fillets or slices.
  3. Clean the fillets or pieces of fish, season them with salt and pepper and store them in the refrigerator.
  4. Wash and peel the garlic and chop it.
  5. Wash and peel the onion and cut it into slices.
  6. Wash the tomato and cut it into slices.
  7. Wash the peppers, remove the seeds and white parts and cut them into strips of approximately 0.5 cm
  8. Wash the pepper, remove the seeds and chop it.
  9. Wash and dry the coriander, parsley and spring onion, chop them and set aside on absorbent paper.
  10. Pass the cassava flour through a sieve.
  11. Wash and dry the lemon and set it aside.

PREPARATION:

Fish stew:

  1. In a deep frying pan or skillet, add the olive oil and half the palm oil, spreading it around to cover the entire bottom.
  2. Distribute the tomato slices and season with a little salt and pepper.
  3. Place the onion and peppers on top, interspersing the colors, and season again with salt and pepper.
  4. Spread the garlic, a little coriander, parsley, chives and chilli.
  5. Arrange the seasoned fish fillets.
  6. Drizzle with coconut milk and add remaining palm oil.
  7. Top with the remaining coriander, parsley and chives.
  8. Cook over medium heat, covered, for about 15 minutes or until the fish is cooked, shaking the pan well from time to time to prevent the moqueca from sticking to the bottom.

Farofa with lemon:

  1. While the moqueca is cooking, melt the butter in another pan.
  2. Add the flour and season with salt.
  3. Toast the farofa, stirring constantly to prevent it from burning, until it is crispy.
  4. Turn off the fire.
  5. Add the lemon zest, grating the peel directly over the farofa and mix.

Fish stew:

  1. When the fish is cooked, adjust the seasoning.
  2. Turn off the fire.

FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:

  1. Serve the moqueca in the pan in which it was prepared or, if you prefer, distribute it among the plates.
  2. Arrange the farofa next to the moqueca on plates or transfer it to a bowl to serve separately.
