Meet Vivi Cake, the baker who is causing a sensation on social media by making cakes in the shape of a wall, hand, meat and much more
Is it a cake or not a cake? This is a very recurring question asked by the 6 million followers that Vivi (@vivicakedesigner) adds to its Instagram and TikTok profiles. Owner of an unusual creativity, the influencer went viral by making videos in which she eats doorknobs, shoes and cellphones, all made of cake. Her first success came from a video in which she ate a cake in the shape of a coxinha a little over a year ago.

Success seems to have come quickly, but this story is longer than you might think. At the age of 25, Vivi began selling pot cakes to earn some money, as she became financially frustrated with her teaching profession, psychology. “People loved pot cakes and started asking me for a birthday cake and I didn’t even know how to make it. I went on the internet to search and ended up stumbling upon videos of carved cakes. I started to venture out and try to do it and I was posting it on the Internet ever since and people were already freaking out, ”she recalls.
In the midst of the pandemic, something changed inside the baker, he wanted to innovate and get out of his comfort zone. Although he already had an established pastry career in his hometown of Cascavel (PR), he still wanted to get much older. “And that’s when I thought about making videos to show people what it’s like to cut these super realistic cakes. Because people reported that they sometimes saw the photos on Instagram and thought it was just a normal object and not a cake sculpture, “she says.

And the recognition came in less than a month, his second video published on TikTok has already gone viral and reached 1 million views in less than two days. Today, at 33, Vivi left Paraná and came to the capital Sao Paulo for her work as an influencer. With this increase, she needed to close her and her program no longer accepts orderstheir cakes are 100% display, both for the Internet and for television.
Yes, for those who are not a big fan of social networks, it is possible to see the super realistic cakes on open tv, in a very playful setting, called “Is it sweet or not sweet?”, in Eliana’s program, on SBT. “After all, it’s the joke I already make on social media: people go to the show to find out what the cake is and what isn’t and win prizes. Always with good stories behind it, it’s a photo for the whole family, very funny! ”Says Vivi.

Each of these creations presented to the public it takes 4 hours to weeks to make, more complex cakes can take over a month. And Vivi explains to the onlookers on duty: “there are very small pieces, which in reality are not a cake, like a handle, they are made only of chocolate or only of a mixture similar to dark chocolate. But an apple, for example, has everything, dough, filling. It really is a cake ”.
Since it does all the work by itself, Vivi’s greatest helpers are his followers. “I listen to my followers a lot, all the time, and most of the ideas come from them. For example, some of them started betting in the comments that my house was also made of cake, and that’s how I came up with the idea of making the cake wall, which was a success, ”she explains.

He also says that in his kitchen there is no waste, everything he makes is reused for the next creation or is offered to relatives and friends, who have a party by tasting these delights.
And finally, we leave you this question: is it pie or not pie?
