“Frankie Amaury is part of the history of Brazilian fashion and is an icon of Rio. The boys took their skin from the ghetto Village creating a lifestyle irreverent, urban and colorful carioca, full of ginga, which conquered Brazil by uniting the high society, the fashion public and celebrities,” says Silvia, a friend of the brand’s founders and one of its iconic stars in the 1980s.

The rebirth of Frankie Amaury anticipates two projects linked to the brand: a biography also written by Schnabl, based on research on the collection preserved by Renata, and a film directed by José Henrique Fonseca, by “Good morning, Veronica”produced by Zola Filmes.

Tragedy

In 2004, Amaury Vera was found dead in his apartment in Arpoador, with a scarf wrapped around his neck. Initially a suicide was thought, but a forensic examination discovered that he had been murdered, with a blow to the head and then hanged. Suspicions, according to the Public Prosecutor, fell on Frankie Mackey, who died in 2015, in Rosario, Argentina, where he had been a fugitive since 2006, when preventive detention was ordered. Frankie died shortly before the trial, even though he was in another country. After his death, the case was closed.
