The train trip on the border between Rio Grande do Sul and Uruguay has a debut date: the trips will depart from Sant’Ana do Livramento, in the far south of the state, which borders Rivera, starting on July 20.
The excursions will be managed on Saturdays by Giordani Turismo, which also manages the Wine Trainsteamboat ride in Bento Gonçalves. The route will be 20 kilometers long and will start from the central train station. Sant’Ana do Livramento at the station Palomas.
During the route there will be musical shows and tastings of wine and grape juice produced in the region, while the train will travel through the landscapes of pampas Comes from Cerro de Palomas Halfway along the route, a stop is planned at the Almadén winery, with a visit included in the price of the tour.
Unlike the Wine Train, which takes place in Maria Fumaça, the Pampas Train It will take place on board a modern VLT (light rail vehicle) train, which will have air conditioning, a sound system, panoramic windows and reclining seats.
It is worth mentioning that the tour is not a round trip: the train is only one leg and the package includes a road transfer to return to the origin station. It is up to the visitor to decide whether they prefer to take the train first and return by bus to Sant’Ana do Livramento, or vice versa.
