Endometriosis: See artists who have had the same diagnosis as Anitta

In a rash on social media, singer Anitta revealed that she has been diagnosed with endometriosis, a chronic disease that affects women of reproductive age.

The artist said he suffered for nine years after having sex, but that doctors said he suffered from recurrent cystitis, a type of urinary tract infection.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, one in ten Brazilian women suffers from symptoms of endometriosis, but the diagnosis is still difficult to make, as reported by Anitta.

Dr. Marco Chernyakovskygynecologist and communications director of the Brazilian Society of Endometriosis, explains that the disease is still highly stigmatized and that many doctors do not think about the disease when a patient comes to them.

“The clinical picture of endometriosis is also common to many other diseases. So pain, menstrual cramps, abdominal swelling can be common symptoms of adenomyosis, ovarian cyst, uterine fibroid or adhesions,” he adds.

Like Anitta, other artists have already revealed they suffer from endometriosis and commented on difficulties with symptoms and diagnosis. Check out some of them:

“I recently found out I have endometriosis, but I haven’t had an operation yet,” she said. “Sometimes it takes women 40 years to find out, as was my case. Sometimes it’s an unbearable pain.”

According to the doctor. Marcos Tcherniakovsky, 62% of women diagnosed with endometriosis suffer from dysmenorrhea, as intense intestinal cramps are called. “Patients with chronic pelvic pain, that pain for more than six months without clinical improvement, we are talking about 57%,” he adds.

Giovanna Ewbank

Giovanna Ewbank also spoke of endometriosis after Anitta’s report. The actress had previously commented on the diagnosis on social media, but she reinforced the need to search for information about the disease.

“I have a movie in my head. I suffered for many years not knowing what I had, it was fainting cramps from pain and a lot of discomfort in sexual intercourse. I had never heard of the disease when I found out and soon I operated. It changed mine. life. I know, “he wrote.
